Hawthorn Berries (Crataegus monogyna)

General Information: Hawthorn Berries come from the English Hawthorn, a deciduous small tree belonging to the Rosaceae family. It has hard wood, thorny branches with glossy yellow-green leaves, white flowers that look like roses with each blossom possessing a single seed vessel producing a separate fruit, which when ripe is a brilliant red berry.

Culinary Uses - Hawthorn Berries can be made into jam or added to soup.
