Passion flower is a tropical vine that occurs naturally throughout Europe, Asia and southeastern portions of the Americas.
Typical Uses:
Powdered passion flower is used to produce teas, tinctures, infusions and liquid extracts.
Medicinal Uses:
Passionflower is used to help the body reduce anxiety, hysteria and nervousness by nourishing the nervous system. It's used to help with pain, insomnia, asthma and nervousness, menopause, and headaches. Its sedative effects may increase drowsiness when combined with other substances.
Precautions:
Large doses may cause nausea and vomiting. Avoid large doses during pregnancy.
